In a ceremony marked by strong emotion and a shared commitment to new challenges, Grupo Hijuelas officially inaugurated its new nursery in Mexico, marking a key milestone in its role as a global agricultural development platform supporting the growth of agricultural producers across Latin America.

The event brought together Grupo Hijuelas’ professional team alongside suppliers, clients, collaborators, and friends. The ceremony included the blessing of the facilities, as well as heartfelt remarks by Juan Ignacio Goycoolea Sone, CEO of Grupo Hijuelas, and Christian Vélez, Regional Director for North America.

“This new nursery in Querétaro is focused on berries—raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and blueberries—while also creating space for the development of major fruit crops,” said Juan Ignacio Goycoolea. “It represents a platform for growth and collaboration with producers who share our vision of innovation and excellence. This project aligns closely with our path toward internationalization and our goal of becoming a truly global platform.”

Gaspar Goycoolea Vial, President of Grupo Hijuelas, also highlighted the importance of this milestone in the holding’s history. “The inauguration of this nursery is a significant moment for our organization. It is exciting to see our continued expansion into new territories, alongside producers and partners who believe in our work and in the future of fruit growing.”

With this development, Grupo Hijuelas further expands its international presence, positioning Mexico as a strategic hub for the berries and fruit industry, delivering innovation, sustainability, and high-value solutions for local producers.

Christian Vélez added that the project “represents not only a new beginning, but also the culmination of a journey filled with challenges, learning, and—above all—hope.” He continued, “Grupo Hijuelas in Mexico is preparing to face all future challenges. Our goal is to deliver plants of extraordinary quality, meeting the highest standards demanded by the market.”

This newly inaugurated project joins other initiatives of similar strategic importance in Peru, Colombia, and Africa, regions where Grupo Hijuelas continues to drive its international growth strategy from Chile toward the world’s most relevant fruit-producing hubs.
