“Nueva Vid and Grupo Hijuelas joined forces in equal partnership to form a conglomerate with global ambitions. With operations across nearly all five continents, the business generates approximately US$20 million in annual revenue. Today, they are leaders in table grapes and other fruit crops, and they aim to produce up to five million plants per season within the next four years.”

This was highlighted by Pulso / La Tercera in its September 22 edition, following a conversation with Gaspar Goycoolea and Jorge Valenzuela, two of the key architects behind the alliance. The publication positions the group as Chile’s leading nursery and a regional and global agricultural development platform.
“The alliance was born out of decades-long friendship between the two entrepreneurs,” the report notes. “In their conversation with Pulso, they explain that they became increasingly convinced of the need to join forces in order to make a leap forward in an ever more competitive global food market, while also addressing challenges such as climate change, evolving consumer trends—where fruit plays a central role—and the ongoing professionalization of the sector driven by the entry of large investment funds.”
