From in vitro propagation to the nursery: the challenge of transitioning back outdoors 🌱🧪

In the third and final part of France TV’s report for NoA sur Terre, Laurent Jouve from Grupo Hijuelas France presents a key stage of the process: the acclimatization of plants produced in the laboratory.

After leaving the in vitro environment, the young plants are transferred to a growing substrate and must gradually learn to develop under outdoor conditions: interacting with bacteria and fungi, absorbing minerals from the soil, and obtaining energy through photosynthesis. ☀️🌿

Laurent explains how the containers are gradually opened until the plants become strong, develop well-formed roots, and are ready to continue growing in nurseries. Among the materials shown are chestnut plants that are later commercialized in Corrèze, France, and other European markets.
